East Texas Genealogical Society Photo: Neches Woman

Welcome!

We are excited to share our interest in genealogy with you!  Join us as we search out the past together.

The East Texas Genealogical Society serves six counties in educating both members and the public on topics that are relevant and timely.  Whether you have ancestors in East Texas or elsewhere, you will develop the skillset to search out your ancestors.

The East Texas Genealogical Society holds monthly meetings on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 2:00 pm, both in-person and virtual, to accomodate our members.  The in-person meetings take place at the Tyler Public Library - Taylor Auditorium, unless there is a tour scheduled elsewhere. Each meeting has a local expert or nationally known speaker who provides opportunities for the members and the community to learn how to better research and locate their family.  There are also Special Interest Groups that meet to cover topics such as DNA, led by expert, Debbie Parker Wayne, and Computer Technology, led by Dr. Rochell McWhorter, UT-Tyler, Professor, and Technology Director of ETGS..

Members can login to the Member-only section for more great content and store discounts.

Be watching for details of our next meeting and please consider becoming a member of ETGS!
