Speaker: Tresa Tatyrek

Program: “Embracing Change is Empowering, What happens when the Family Tree Maker developer pulls the rug out from under you”

Tresa Tatyrek will provide a time line after the Family Tree Maker developer’s discontinuation notice was sent out. She will also review the thought process that goes into looking for new software and a web solution. Tresa will discuss making decisions and moving forward and the liberation those decisions make.
 

Bio of Tresa Tatyrek:

  • Tresa has been interested in family history and genealogy since childhood. She began doing extensive research in 1997 on her and her husband's families what has evolved into tracing over forty family surnames as the families branched backwards. Her research now includes client work as well as continuing her own. She uses cluster genealogy as her primary research technique along with utilizing many technical tools to keep track of her progress.

  • Tresa has given presentations on a variety of genealogical topics to different societies including using the genealogy program Family Tree Maker, the Internet, Courthouse Research, and Research Trip Preparation.

  • Tresa performs volunteer work for several groups & libraries in the Dallas area and serves as Facilitator for the Grapevine Namedroppers. She has been bestowed various awards such as "Volunteer of the Year" and "Award of Merit" multiple years from the Dallas Genealogical Society and the Grapevine Library. Tresa served as President of the Dallas Genealogical Society for 3 years & 6 years as Webmaster.
